The new SmartCAM ANPR camera– This cost-effective third generation ANPR camera combines high quality imaging with onboard plate recognition. The SmartCAM family includes a wide range of models: in some variants the dual sensor dual lens design serves to further enhance number plate recognition accuracy, in others it functions as an Overview camera.
The camera runs 4 pre-installed plate recognition engines by default, which covers most common license plates worldwide. SmartCAM recognizes plates very fast, partly because of parallel multi-core operation, partly due to an integrated vehicle detection algorithm that preselects the relevant images for the ANPR module. Perfect imaging is assisted by built-in smart illumination that also has a synchronized flash mode which guarantees the recognition of reflective and non-reflective number plates at the same time. Precise location data is provided by the camera’s optional GPS, and https remote access is possible via the 4G/LTE add-on. At the end of the process the camera provides the requested data by exporting the events in the form selected by the user. In effect, it is a true stand-alone traffic solution. SmartCAM’s advanced technology is encased in a tough IK10 & IP67 industrial grade housing for enhanced protection.

SmartCAM combines ANPR/LPR camera, IR illumination, 4G modem and IP communication capability, GPS, data processing and (optional) Doppler speed radar in a single IP67 rated unit. The device automatically performs time synchronization (NTP) and image capturing in 30 FPS in any weather and light condition. Its built-in motion detection with extensive masking option, ONVIF compatibility, JPEG image / MJPEG stream output and internal buffer, synchronized IR (or optional white) LED illumination provide ideal image capturing and control.
The camera’s extensive ability for traffic counting, analysis and to directly control external devices, such as speed radars, illuminators, barriers as well as its accessibility through the web makes the perfect unit for a wide range of applications.
