    What is a USDOT Number?

    US companies operating commercial vehicles to transport passengers or haul cargo in interstate commerce need to be registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and must have a USDOT identifier. Similarly, commercial intrastate carriers who transport certain types and certain quantities of hazardous materials that require a safety permit must register for a USDOT Number.

    USDOT number serves as a unique identifier to check a company's safety information during audits, compliance reviews, road accidents and inspections.

    The image source can either be analog, digital or IP cameras – CARMEN® DOT accepts still images or MJPEG video streams as well.
